Instructional materials
from the WFP Program encourage exploring with Fast Plants. The Program
aims to:
- Generate ownership and
"what if" questions from students
- Provide inquiry-based
approaches that will aid student understanding of concepts and
principles in biology (based on the National Science Standards)
- Connect the natural
sciences to other subjects such as mathematics, social studies, art,
and language.

Over the last 13 years the
WFP Program has develop a series of over 50 activities that aim to provide
hands-on inquiry based learning activities in the classroom and lab. The
series known as WFPID's, cover a wide range of topics such as:
