Dancing Snapdragons

Kurt Stüber, Johann Warming, Wolf-Ekkehard Lönnig

This time-lapse film shows two different snapdragon plants during inflorescence growth. The time passed during this film is about one day. The left plant is a wild-type snapdragon with flower buds. The right one is a squamosa mutant which later produces inflorescences instead of flowers. Both plants display a rotating movement during growth which of course is only visible in this time-lapsed film. The rotating movement of the mutant seems to be considerably less.
