Essential for almost all experiments in an accurate way to measure the
deflection of the shoot from the initial position. The angle of curvature
during gravitropism can be measured in several ways. An easy and commonly
used method to measure the angle is the use of a protractor. An accuracy
of the order of 1o can be achieved using this method.
