Angular position transducer
Navigation:
To get more accurate information about the initial bending, shoots were
hooked up to an angular position transducer. The upward bending of the
shoot was plottet on a strip chart recorder after which the actual angle
could be calculated with equation 2 (see box 1). In the graph below (fig.
9), the gravitropic responses of different shoots are depicted during
initial gravitropism. With the use of linear regression, bending rates
were calculated of all four shoots (tab. 6).
